Family Medicine Faculty Member

The Serge team in Guatemala needs someone to teach, mentor, and disciple residents studying in the three-year Family and Community Medicine residency program, as well as other company workers under the umbrella of Universidad Panamericana.

Responsibilities:

• Provide didactic and clinical teaching to residents
• Engage actively in the discipleship of residents
• Pursue opportunities to share the gospel with patients and in the broader community
• Support and encourage the local Guatemala City team by actively participating in team life, seeking opportunities to serve using gifts and talents

Requirements and Critical Qualities:

• Fluency in Spanish (C2) to be able to teach at a university level—language school is also an option to gain this level of proficiency
• Active medical license in family medicine (preferred) or specialty such as internal medicine, pediatrics, or obstetrics and gynecology
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to work with cultural humility & patience in a resource-limited environment
• Commitment to Jesus Christ and the global expansion of His Kingdom
• Call to missional living and a desire to engage with the team in fulfilling its vision
• Devotion to prayer, personal repentance, and renewal as the motive and power for mission
• Commitment to Serge’s core values, demonstrated in work and interactions

Support Raising:

The person in this role raises their full financial support for salary, ministry expenses, and benefits.
When you are appointed to go with Serge, you are assigned a support coach who will guide you step-by-step through the entire support-raising process.
