Within its borders, wealth contrasts with extreme poverty and malnutrition. Beautiful landscapes clash with highly polluted and contaminated areas. Although a culturally Christian society, many struggle to grasp the gospel of grace. There are high rates of corruption and abuse.
Years of war, migration, and violence have contributed to emotional and relational brokenness. There are ample needs and opportunities for spiritual renewal, discipleship, and mercy.
Since 2018, the team has desired to pave the way for the grace of Jesus to reconcile Guatemalans to God, leading to transformed relationships with others, themselves, and creation.
The team partners with Sigo Vivo street church. Through the church, the homeless and addicted encounter the grace of Jesus through building relationships of trust, discipleship, Christian recovery groups, counseling, adult literacy groups, and prison visits.
The team partners with a medical training program to train, mentor, and equip local Christian physicians, professionally and spiritually.
The team longs to see these physicians live out of and promote the all-of-life-altering gospel for themselves and their patients.
The team partners with a local maternal-child clinic. Marginalized women, children, and young families are given accompaniment and resources to flourish physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Through parent coaching, parents are given tools to guide and discipline their children with grace and truth, helping them respond effectively to challenges at each stage of child development.
The team also offers occupational therapy for vulnerable children.
