Walking the streets, you can see the impact of Spanish artists such as Joan Miro and Antoni Gaudí. But the beauty and art hide the spiritual darkness that also dwells in the city. Almost half the population considers themselves agnostic or atheistic. To many people, the idea of belief in God seems like a belief in fairytales.
While the church here is small (1-2% of the population), Barcelona is a strategic place for ministry — it’s a large city surrounded by several other big population centers. Though it is one of the most secular regions of Europe, the Barcelona area is home to various new ministries, many Evangelical publishers, and one of the few evangelical seminaries in the country.
The Serge Barcelona team helps to supply national Barcelona churches, church plants, and their leaders with workers, resources, training, mentoring, encouragement, prayer, and friendship. All teammates are also personally engaged in evangelism as part of building the church in Barcelona.
We want to help these churches grow to be increasingly Christ-centered, Gospel-driven, and missional. We want to see God glorified as churches and their leaders – deeply transformed and propelled outward by the power of the Gospel – thrive in worship, relationship/community, and outreach.
The Serge team in southern Spain has an immediate need for Apprenticeship Staff.
Additionally, the team seeks church planters, pastors, event planners, entrepreneurs, and others with a passion to see local churches and their leaders flourish.
