Evangelicals comprise a mere 1% of the population and most people in Spain have never heard the full gospel message.
Meanwhile, the Muslim population is projected to increase more than 80% over the next quarter-century, presenting unique opportunities to encourage and equip the small but faithful local church to engage its Muslim neighbors in love.
Since 1998, the Serge team in Southern Spain has worked to bring about a movement of gospel-driven, grace-oriented churches.
Although following Jesus is considered counter-cultural in southern Spain, the Serge team planted a church that has grown steadily over the last ten years in numbers, maturity, and depth of community.
Through Bible studies, one-on-one discipling, Sunday worship services, parties, social events, seminars and retreats, leadership development, and activities for kids and teens, a Christ-focused community is taking root in the city. People are putting their faith in Christ and are beginning to walk with God, and members of the Serge team are investing deeply in these new Christians. Meanwhile, seeds continue to be sown in the community at large.
The team is casting the net broadly, seeking out those in whom the Lord may be working, through personal friendships, social networks, English classes, and neighborhood interactions.
They also serve the local community in tangible ways through clothing exchanges, food distributions, and opportunities to learn English.
The Serge team in southern Spain has an immediate need for Apprenticeship Staff.
Additionally, the team seeks church planters, disciplers, musicians, administrators, apprentices, a mercy coordinator, and a youth worker. We have a need for men and women gifted at teaching English, who can facilitate classes for adults and children, as well as language exchanges and English camps. We are also seeking entrepreneurs to start new businesses and other business-minded people to support these endeavors once started.
