K-12 Teacher – Thailand

Education opportunities for the children of team members can make or break missionaries’ ability to stay engaged in ministry and on the field.

The Serge Thailand team has the blessing of living and working near Grace International School (GIS), a Christian K-12 International school that was founded to teach the children of missionaries living in and around Chiang Mai. Having GIS in the community has allowed the team’s families to live and work here, knowing their children will be educated and loved well.

Grace International School is always looking for teachers to come serve at the school. All missionaries who work at the school need to come through a mission-sending agency. Serge sees this as an opportunity to bless GIS, the missions community of Southeast Asia, and the Thai church as well.

The Serge Thailand team desires to help teachers serve their students well and participate in the work of planting and blessing Thai churches.

Working as a GIS teacher is a full-time job for 10 months out of the year. During the school year, the team would not expect much from you outside of your work for the school. During summers and as you have time and energy, they have many opportunities to help the team to empower Thai pastors and churches.

Responsibilites:

• Work under the supervision of Grace International School’s leadership to provide quality Christian education for the assigned students
• Work under the supervision of Serge Thailand’s team leader to bless and help the Thai church as time and school responsibilities allow (first responsibility would be to GIS)
• Participate in the life of the GIS community, loving and blessing other teachers, staff, students, etc
• Being a voice for the gospel of God’s grace in and around GIS. This is an important ministry, even around fellow missionaries
• Be an active part of the Serge Thailand team, by participating in team life, worship, and activities.

Requirements and Critical Qualities:

• This position requires learning the Thai language after arriving on the field
