Family Medicine / OB Doctor – Nkhoma, Malawi

Nkhoma Hospital in Malawi needs another doctor to partner with the Family Medicine Residency. This residency was established by another missionary, who runs it along with another Malawian faculty member.

This is one of the only Family Medicine residencies in all of Malawi, making it an important investment in Malawi’s future Christian leaders.

The hospital is a 300-bed operation, composed of multiple departments, overseen by the mainline Presbyterian Church in Malawi (CCAP). It has a good reputation for medical care and is looking to expand to be a teaching center. It recently received a major grant from Africa Healthcare Mission, to build the PAACS program.

Responsibilites:

Full-time clinical faculty for Malawian family medicine residents and Malawian medical students on family medicine rotation.

Time will be spent on:

• Clinical teaching rounds
• Academic lectures
• Spiritual training and support
• Team call supervision

Requirements and Critical Qualities:

• Family Medicine Specialist
• Qualities: Self-awareness, humility, ability to work on a team, a sense of fun and adventure
