Visitor Coordinator/Station Manager – Kapsowar, Kenya

The Kapsowar team is a multi-agency team that is rapidly expanding. In addition to at least 8-10 families on station, the team welcomes around 100 Western visitors to the hospital every year, and the hospital is also expanding their training programs. To meet these needs, Samaritan’s Purse is doubling the housing capacity of the Kapsowar mission station. A coordinator is needed to liaise with visitors, missionaries, and sending agencies to be able to prepare and allocate housing spaces as well as welcome and orient visitors. The role could be part time (in conjunction with another spouse who would like to serve at Kapsowar, for example) or full time. Also, it could expand into other local ministries as time/abilities allow (Bible studies, discipling, etc).

Responsibilities:

• Liaise with sending organizations and visitors to effectively schedule visits and assign housing 
• Work on the logistics of in-country arrival and orientation to housing 
• Coordinate househelpers as well as organize hospital and living area tours 
• Oversee and mentor short-term visitors

Requirements and Critical Qualities:

• Organizational skills 
• A “people-person” personality 
• No special language skills are needed, but the hire could choose to use some time for Swahili language study

The person in this role raises their full financial support for salary, ministry expenses, and benefits.
