Within the city, there are very few gospel-centered churches, and those that exist are in need of support and training. As a result, a very small percentage of the population has heard and believed the gospel. Especially among university students.
In addition, Cusco has a large underserved population in need of quality healthcare.
Serge missionaries in Cusco partner with Peruvians to develop churches, reach college students, and provide healthcare, all with the goal to share the good news of Jesus with as many Peruvians as possible.
The Serge team in Cusco works in mobile medical clinics in about a dozen of the surrounding communities for the purpose of community outreach and provides medical checks to children at a local orphanage a few times a year.
Because these communities do not have a gospel witness, the team desires to partner with pastors to help share the gospel with patients. They desire for this work to lead to more house churches planted in the surrounding communities.
The team has partnered with Zona Zegura (a local Peruvian ministry) to plant a new house church in their community. They’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Peruvians who built this ministry from the ground up.
The team teaches English and disciples teenagers through a program of their church called Life & Work.
“We have the privilege of getting to know the teenagers in the program and teaching them skills that will help them eventually get jobs in the hospitality industry in Cusco. Even more important than teaching the teenagers has been the opportunity we’ve had to spend time with them one on one and disciple them in their faith. All of the girls and boys we are meeting with have decided to follow Jesus and be baptized. We praise God that we get to be part of such an important time in their lives!”

The team is seeking those with pastoral gifts, who can shepherd our team spiritually and potentially lead a house church. Additionally, those with medical specialties, experience working with college students, and church planters are much needed.
