Where We Serve
Serge East Africa Media
Serge East Africa Media (SEAM) is a multi-team collaboration that creates media content among many different countries and unique cultures across East Africa.
Our desire is to uphold the inherent dignity of every image bearer and community in each of our projects while communicating what God is doing across East Africa in ways that make sense to Western audiences.
Our Guiding Principles
01 / 04
Inclusion
We as foreign workers are not the heroes of the story. With our projects, we aim to include key local community stakeholders into the conversation from the beginning of the process onward. We feel this is crucial, since the depiction of the community should be filtered through the ones who know and appreciate the nuances of the context.
02 / 04
Transparency
Consent to be videoed or photographed is only a half-step towards transparency. We want people and communities featured in our work to be aware of the end goal and use of creation. Legally, we are not required to explain the end use of the material captured, but ethically we hold ourselves to a higher standard and seek to gain consent not just for the images taken, but also for their intended use.
03 / 04
Holistic
Many of the stories we’re capturing will include hard and broken things. This is the nature of the world. But joy, hope, entrepreneurship, endurance, perseverance, generosity are all also found in the hard places. Our stories do not shy away from the very real need and hardship, but we always seek to end with hope and to preserve the dignity and complexity of each human life.
04 / 04
Bridging
Our projects should function as bridges that span the gap between the people, projects and cultures being depicted and the audience who will be viewing them. We aim to create content that is invitational, allowing audiences to become excited about what God is doing and to participate in His Kingdom that always leans towards hope, not despair.

Origins
Serge East Africa Media is a unique collaboration.
Beginning when a few members from separate Serge East Africa teams brought together their talents in media, the desire to share stories about what God is doing in their local communities became immediately clear. The team has backgrounds in still photography, video production, and drone piloting. Though teammates might periodically travel for their work with SEAM, much of the operations are overseen by Boas Opedun from his base in Kampala/Fort Portal, Uganda.
Team
Boas Opedun is originally from Soroti, Uganda, and has worked in over 15 different countries worldwide as a freelance photographer. He has 14 years of experience. He currently serves as a media specialist and at Kabarole Baptist Church. Boas works with Serge East Africa teams and collaborates with SEAM, advocating for the different programs through photos and video production to help communicate the different needs, projects, plans, and goals in the vast ministries Serge provides across East Africa.
Boas, his wife, Jenna and their four children seek to serve their surrounding community with love, dignity, and respect, looking to Jesus as their example. Supporting the growth and multiplication of the global church is the core vision. With passion and hope, the Opeduns are walking by faith to glorify God across Fort Portal, Uganda and East Africa.
Team
Regan Strutner is a photographer and filmmaker currently serving with her husband and three children at Kapsowar Mission Hospital in Kenya. She supports the social work department and uses her background in visual storytelling to create impactful content for the hospital and its patients. Prior to joining Serge, Regan ran her own business, Regan Elizabeth Films, for nine years, specializing in wedding films and traveling internationally to create documentaries for various non-profits.
Her passion lies in telling the stories of vulnerable communities worldwide, using film and photography to bridge connections and inspire action. In Kenya, she is also developing a non-profit to support the hospital and enhance healthcare access in underserved areas.

Give to SEAM
Help us produce high-quality content that effectively captures and communicates the profound narratives and experiences of individuals within East Africa communities.
Your financial donation to SEAM not only supports the logistical aspects of media production but also enables Serge to broaden its reach and impact. This initiative provides a platform for voices that are rarely heard, enabling Serge missionaries to share their stories and the dynamic role of faith in their lives.
Ultimately, your donation serves a dual purpose: facilitating the production of inspiring content, and glorifying God by highlighting His work in diverse communities. Through your support, SEAM can persist in its role of celebrating and spreading faith throughout East Africa and beyond.
