Tim and Bethany serve in Cavite, Philippines, assisting a local seminary and Bible college. Tim instructs in the New Testament department, and Bethany teaches English as a Second Language (ESL).
Tim’s parents were missionaries and he grew up in the Philippines from 1986-97. Although he was born into a Christian family, he did not experience true repentance and faith until his third year in college. After he completed a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, he felt the call to full-time ministry overseas. It was during a basketball mission trip in 2009 that he began to hear the call to return to the Philippines as a missionary to minister to a people and place that he called home.
Bethany grew up in Charlotte, N.C., in a Christian family and began following Christ at a young age. Ever since she can remember, she has desired to teach. She pursued a B.S. in History and an M.A. in History Education to fulfill that dream. It was during her graduate studies that she began dating Tim. God began burdening her heart for cross-cultural missions during their dating time.
After Tim’s mission trip to the Philippines in 2009, they married and began to pursue their passion for the Filipino people through a time of preparation. Tim completed an M.Div. at Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary, served as a pastoral intern, and then went on to complete a Th.M. from Westminster Theological Seminary.
Their desire is to see and to participate in the growth of the kingdom among all the nations, specifically, in the area of discipleship among the Filipino evangelical church. Tim seeks to teach pastors and church leaders in sound Christian theology with the specific goal of developing lovers of God and men. Bethany desires to help the Filipino people develop in literacy and education as they pursue secular work for the benefit of their families and communities.
