Nicole was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York. In 2009 she began to study at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She came to know the Lord in her freshman year through involvement in Cru’s campus ministry and the local Christian and Missionary Alliance church.
When she graduated in the Fall of 2012 she made a somewhat spontaneous move to South Africa to be a pioneer for a new internship through Raise the Children International. She spent a year teaching at a rural high school and caring for a group of orphaned students.
After her year-long internship came to an end she felt God calling her back to Africa. It was then that her college pastor recommended Serge. She was drawn to Serge’s focus on ministry through weakness – as she was feeling pretty weak but was ready to serve it was a perfect fit!
Nicole was approved to serve with Serge in March 2014 and in August 2015 deployed to Kibuye, Burundi, for a two-year term to partner with the medical/construction team through financial administration.
She loves Jesus, meeting people, nature, coffee, horses, organizing, traveling, studying, gaming, knitting, stories, hiking, adrenaline, crafting, trying new things, and Serge.
