Bundibugyo is in western Uganda. Marked by disease, high infant and child mortality rates, and war, it is an area in need of hope. To address educational needs, the Serge team in Bundibugyo set up a youth library called “Books4Bundi.” This project serves the most vulnerable groups in the district: youth and women.
Thanks to the generous help of our donors, we now have several thousand books! We run an after school literacy program six days a week, where children and youth gain further literacy skills, enjoy reading books, and hear the hope of the gospel. In addition, women with minimal formal education gain the opportunity to learn to read and develop life skills.
The library currently employs local believers who lead the classes and clubs for the 300-400 children and youth who attend daily; sharing the gospel and the Word of God in local languages.
Donors who partner with Books4Bundi on a monthly basis enable us to continue reaching youth with the love and hope of Jesus!
